Rome conquers Israel
Rome conquers Israel but allows worship of Yahweh to remain legal. However, they appoint Herod the Great, an Arab loyal to Rome, as king of the Jews despite Yahweh’s command that only a Jewish descendent of David may sit on the throne. (Jos. Ant. 14.4.; 70-72; 15.1.1-6)
