Jesus Prays for Another Way

Jesus goes to the Garden of Gethsemane and is so distressed by his impending torture and death that he suffers hematidrosis—the capillaries in his sweat glands rupture and blood mixes with his perspiration. An angel attempts to comfort him to no avail. (Luke 22:42-44)
