David Defeats Goliath

Due to the failure of the judges, kings are appointed over the Israelites. The first king, Saul, is insanely jealous of one of his military commanders, David, whose faithfulness to Yahweh leads Israel to victory over the Philistines. (1 Sam. 8:4-5; 18:6-9)
